With the warm temps and slow striper bite we decided to hit the trouts today. Found a bunch of throwbacks on soft plastics and mirrolures. Sure is nice to catch some trout this late in the season. Caught a bunch of throwback stripers too. Good times, thanks guys!
Another disappointing day of striper fishing today. Water temps are in the mid 60s…. they are shut down. On another note, I’m heading to FL in a few days to fish with my brother for a couple weeks! Cannot WAIT!
Had Zach and Guy on the boat yesterday for a 6hr trip. Well, it was a tough day. VERY tough. We fished the stripers in the morning for a few hours with only a few dinks to show. Put it on the trailer and went down to the inlet. I figured there would still be a few trout or flounder around, and there might be, but we didnt find any. Headed out to the Zane Grey in the 4th quarter and came up empty again. Brutal. The highlight of the trip was a whale encounter. Thanks guys, sorry for the pitiful fishing.
We needed a little change in weather to get the rockfish all fired up, and that’s what we got. Fishing is back on – if you are visiting the Outer Banks for the Holidays then give me a shout and let’s go fishing! Plenty of openings.
Last couple charters have been pretty tough fishing. Still catching the dinks all you want , but the keeper fish have been hiding. Lots of guys catching them at night time. We need the weather to deteriorate or start running my trips at night!
