Flatties!

Had a full day booked for Matt and his wife.  The ocean was the plan, but the stretched out flags kept us inside today.  Turned the trip into half day and crushed the flounder.   Lots of keepers mixed in with the throwbacks.   They managed to get their limit.  Left them and went looking for drum. Found the motherload that wouldn’t bite a gold spoon.  I scrambled to get a piece of cut bait on but it was too late – they were gone.  Oh well, thanks for fishing with me guys! Great work!

Day Savers

The hardest part of this job is not putting together a great catch for every group.  Fishing day in and day out – you just cant get em every day.  This morning I had a nice family who stuck it out in the heat going for glory.  We looked for cobia while trolling for mahi all morning long.  Saw about 7 cobia that weren’t cooperating.  Ended up back inside for the last hour looking for drum.  Found a small school and popped one out of that.  Phew – almost a skunk.

Second trip was a couple from PA who were used to catching 10″ trout.   So that were pretty stoked when those drum started screaming drag.  We did that for a while then ran outside looking for a cobia.  Saw all the right ingredients – but no brown ones.  Thanks for fishing with me guys!

Mahi, Cobia, and Drum OH MY!

Pieced together a decent full day trip today for Sean & Co.   It was extremely hot with temps in the upper 90s and no wind. The ocean was calm and the water was purdy!  We caught Cobia and Mahi outside and on the way in found a school of 30-33″ drum that wanted to play.   Fun day – thanks guys!

Still goin’

Multi day report – been catching Cobia, Mahi, and mixed bottom fish the past couple days.  Today we had some dreamy conditions and caught 4 cobia and 2 mahi and pulled off another 3 cobia.  Great day!
